15 Letter Words

15 letter words for Scrabble and Words with Friends

The maximum length a word can have in a game of Scrabble and Words with Friends is 15 letters. The reason lies in the board and not on the dimensions of the words themselves. Scrabble has a board divided into a 15 x 15 grid while in Words with Friends the grid dimension is 14 x 15.
Building a 15-letter word is very uncommon. The only way to do it is by adding letters to a preexisting word on the board, changing it to something different each time until the full word occupies a complete row or column of the board.

What are the highest-scoring 15-letter words?

OXYPHENBUTAZONE is the highest-scoring word possible in Scrabble and Words with Friends, yielding 41 and 44 points respectively. Yet, as to date, it has never been played, at least in official tournaments.
The next highest-scoring words are BENZODIAZEPINES and PSYCHOANALYZING, worth 38 points each.
Common 15-letter words that are also quite high in value include PSYCHOLOGICALLY (31 points), BIBLIOGRAPHICAL (27 points), and EXPERIMENTATION, STRAIGHTFORWARD, and EXTRAORDINARILY, and STANDARDIZATION with 26 points.

What are the lowest-scoring 15-letter words?

The low-scoring 15-letter words contain only tiles that are worth 1 point. This means that the total value of said words will be 15 points.
There are not many terms with this length and value. However, a few examples include TERRITORIALISTS, IRRATIONALITIES, or RATIONALISATION.
