Words containing only vowels

Words with only vowels are interesting visually and as trivia knowledge to flaunt around friends. However, they take up a useful role when it comes to word games such as Scrabble or Words with Friends.
To be fair, they are the least valued words in these games. In Scrabble, the vowels are only worth one point, while in Words with Friends the U stands apart and yields two points. Still not much. Yet, words with only vowels are very convenient when the players find themselves with unbalanced racks. When they have only tiles with vowels available, or they have too many compared with the number of consonants, it becomes difficult to build long and high-scoring words.
Instead of asking to exchange tiles and forfeiting their turn in the process, knowing words that contain only vowels can help them perform this exchange naturally and earn a few points while doing so.
Unfortunately, there aren’t many words with only vowels in the English language that are also permissible in these word games. Besides, they are limited to two- or three-letter words. The good news is that, because there are so few, memorizing them is not a hard task. Learn them by heart and you will be able to step up your strategy in Scrabble and Words with Friends.
